Prophetic Illustration
Imagine a fortified city surrounded by thick walls. From the outside, the walls may appear impossible to break. For years, the inhabitants may have believed that they could never escape. But when God gives the command, the walls that seemed permanent begin to fall.
This is a picture of many strongholds in life. Some strongholds are built through fear. Some through repeated sin. Some through destructive habits, bitterness, lies, discouragement, oppression, unhealthy relationships, or persistent patterns of defeat. The longer they remain, the stronger they may appear.
But no stronghold is stronger than the power of God.
The walls of Jericho did not fall because Israel possessed greater human strength. They fell because God gave the victory. In the same way, as you seek God in prayer, walk in obedience, reject destructive patterns, forgive, pursue truth, and trust the Lord, the walls of bondage can come down.
The raging spirit of fear must give way to faith. The stronghold of confusion must give way to the peace of God. The stronghold of addiction must give way to self-control and freedom. The stronghold of bitterness must give way to forgiveness. The stronghold of oppression must give way to the victory of Christ.
Your situation may be difficult, but it is not greater than God.
Confession of Faith
I confess that Jesus Christ is Lord over my life. I belong to God, and my life is under His authority. I reject fear, confusion, despair, hatred, bitterness, destructive habits, and every pattern that opposes the will of God for my life.
I declare that I am not a slave to evil, fear, sin, or oppression. I am strengthened by the Lord. My mind belongs to God. My body belongs to God. My future belongs to God.
Every stronghold that is contrary to God’s will is coming down through the power of God. Every raging storm is subject to the authority of the Lord. I receive wisdom, courage, discipline, peace, and spiritual strength.
