BIBLE EXHORTATION
In Scripture, “gates” often symbolize places of authority, control, and decision (Genesis 22:17; Matthew 16:18). When gates are wrongly positioned, they can restrict movement; when aligned with God, they allow access, progress, and blessing.
Nehemiah rebuilt the gates of Jerusalem to restore order and security (Nehemiah 3–6). David spoke of lifting gates for the King of glory (Psalm 24:7). Peter the Apostle was told that the gates of hell would not prevail (Matthew 16:18). Through Jesus Christ, believers are assured access, authority, and victory.
Where there are restrictions, God provides access. Where there are barriers, God makes a way.
LONG ILLUSTRATION
Imagine a city with gates controlled by strict guards. No matter how qualified you are, if the gate is shut, entry is denied.
Now imagine the gates being opened—suddenly movement becomes possible, opportunities flow, and access is granted.
“Gatekeepers” can represent controlling influences—systems, habits, or patterns that determine what enters and exits your life. When these are misaligned, progress is hindered.
In the rebuilding work of Nehemiah, restoring the gates restored access and stability.
Progress often requires opening the right gates.
