Bible Exhortation
God is the supreme authority over all creation. The believer is called to submit to God, walk in obedience, humble himself before the Lord, and acknowledge God’s sovereignty in every area of life.
Proverbs 16:18 warns:
“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
Autarchy, in this spiritual context, represents the attitude of wanting to rule independently, refusing correction, resisting divine instruction, and placing personal will above God’s will. Self-exaltation attempts to take the position that belongs to God alone.
Jesus demonstrated the opposite spirit. In Luke 22:42, He submitted His will to the Father:
“Not my will, but thine, be done.”
Therefore, every satanic influence encouraging pride, rebellion, stubbornness, self-worship, disobedience, or resistance to divine authority must be brought under the authority of Jesus Christ.
