Prayer Focus
This prayer session is focused on asking God for wisdom, spiritual maturity, leadership strength, discernment, integrity, humility, sound judgment, unity, faithfulness, courage, and spiritual stability for church elders.
An elder is entrusted with significant responsibility in helping care for God’s people, support pastoral leadership, preserve biblical order, encourage spiritual growth, protect unity, and model godly character. These prayers therefore seek grace to lead without pride, govern without partiality, correct without harshness, serve without selfish ambition, and remain spiritually stable under pressure.
Bible Exhortation
Church leadership is a sacred stewardship. An elder is not merely someone occupying a leadership position; an elder is called to demonstrate spiritual maturity, sound judgment, faithfulness, humility, and godly character.
Paul gave Timothy qualifications for church leadership in 1 Timothy 3:1–13, emphasizing character, self-control, faithfulness, hospitality, sound judgment, and a good reputation.

When storms of disagreement arise, the elder must remain stable.
