Proverbs 18:16 says that a person’s gift can make room for them and bring them before great people. Psalm 5:12 declares that God surrounds the righteous with favor as with a shield.

However, favor should never become an excuse for passivity. We must prepare, develop our abilities, treat people with integrity, communicate wisely, recognize opportunities, and faithfully steward whatever doors God opens.

Prophetic Illustration

Imagine a person standing before a large building with many doors.

Some doors are locked.

Some doors lead nowhere.

Some doors appear attractive but hide danger.

Then one door opens at exactly the right time.

The person does not need to force it open. The opportunity becomes available, but the person still needs wisdom, preparation, courage, and discernment to enter.

This illustrates divine favor.
