BIBLE EXHORTATION
Bitterness and score-keeping in relationships are spiritual weights that slowly poison love, destroy peace, and block divine blessings. God never designed relationships to be battlegrounds of record-keeping but platforms of forgiveness, grace, and restoration.
The Bible warns us clearly in Hebrews 12:15 that we must watch carefully so that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, defiling many. Bitterness does not stay hidden—it grows, spreads, and destroys.
Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:14-15 that forgiveness is a spiritual key: if we forgive others, our Heavenly Father forgives us. But if we refuse, we block divine mercy.
Score-keeping is emotional bondage. It keeps a record of wrongs, while love keeps no record of evil (1 Corinthians 13:5).
