BIBLE EXHORTATION

A fault-finding attitude is a subtle spiritual poison that destroys relationships, blocks divine favor, and blinds the heart from seeing God’s goodness in others. It is the spirit that magnifies the weaknesses of others while ignoring one’s own shortcomings. The Bible warns us in Matthew 7:3–5 that we should not remove the speck in our brother’s eye while ignoring the beam in our own eye.

God is calling His children into a life of mercy, humility, and love. A critical spirit is not of God; it is rooted in pride, comparison, and spiritual blindness. When you constantly judge others, you position yourself under the same measure of judgment. But when you show mercy, you attract mercy.

LONG ILLUSTRATION

Imagine a man carrying a lantern at night, walking through a dark village. Instead of using the light to guide his steps, he constantly shines it into other people’s houses, pointing out their broken chairs, dirty walls, and scattered belongings. While doing this, he keeps stumbling into pits and stumbling blocks on his own path.

That is exactly how a fault-finding spirit operates. It exposes others while leaving your own life in darkness. Many relationships have been destroyed not by enemies outside, but by tongues that constantly criticize, compare, and condemn.

A woman once lost her promotion at work because her colleagues said she was “too critical and hard to please.” She corrected everyone except herself. Eventually, no one wanted to work with her. That is the silent destruction of a critical spirit—it isolates, repels favor, and blocks destiny helpers.
