BIBLE EXHORTATION
God is not indifferent to creation. From the beginning, He entrusted humanity with stewardship over the earth (Genesis 2:15). Environmental neglect is not just a physical issue—it is a spiritual failure of responsibility, a manifestation of carelessness, greed, and disobedience. When creation suffers, humanity eventually suffers.
Scripture makes it clear that the earth responds to the spiritual condition of its inhabitants (Hosea 4:1–3). Pollution, deforestation, water scarcity, and environmental decay often mirror deeper moral and spiritual decay. As believers, we are called to rise as custodians, intercessors, and restorers.
The spirit of ecological abandonment seeks to destroy balance, disrupt provision, and create hardship. But through prayer, repentance, and righteous action, we can reverse damage and call forth restoration. God is still in the business of renewing the earth (Revelation 11:18), and He works through yielded vessels.
LONG ILLUSTRATION
Imagine a wealthy man who owns a vast, beautiful estate filled with fertile land, flowing rivers, and abundant life. Before traveling, he entrusts this estate to caretakers, giving them everything needed to maintain it. Instead of preserving it, they exploit it—cutting down trees recklessly, polluting the waters, and abandoning responsibility.
Over time, the once-beautiful estate becomes barren. Crops fail, water becomes toxic, and life diminishes. When the owner returns, he is grieved—not just because of the damage, but because of the betrayal of trust.
This is a picture of humanity and the earth. God gave us a thriving planet, but neglect, greed, and spiritual blindness have led to degradation. Yet, God is merciful. When the caretakers repent and begin restoration, the owner provides help, resources, and renewal.
Likewise, when we rise in prayer and responsibility, God releases healing over the land.
