BIBLE EXHORTATION
Scripture speaks about covenants and agreements—both godly and ungodly. While wrong alignments can influence patterns, the Bible emphasizes renewal, redemption, and the power to establish a new direction.
Abraham entered a covenant that brought blessing (Genesis 12). Joshua declared a new direction for his household (Joshua 24:15). Josiah renewed the covenant and led change (2 Kings 23). Through Jesus Christ, Scripture points to a new covenant that brings restoration (Hebrews 8:6).
Where there have been wrong alignments, there is opportunity for realignment and renewal.
LONG ILLUSTRATION
Imagine signing a contract without fully understanding its terms. Over time, the agreement limits your options and controls your outcomes.
Now imagine reviewing that contract, canceling the unfavorable terms, and signing a new agreement that benefits you. Suddenly, your options expand and your future changes.
“Agreements” can be seen as patterns, decisions, or influences that shape direction over time. When those are negative, they can limit progress. But when replaced with intentional choices and new direction, outcomes change.
In the example of Josiah, renewal of covenant led to a shift in direction.
Change begins with choosing a new alignment.
