BIBLE EXHORTATION
Despair can feel like the end of the road—when strength is low, hope fades, and everything seems overwhelming. Yet Scripture consistently redirects us to hope. 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 says we may be troubled on every side, yet not distressed; cast down, but not destroyed. Also, Lamentations 3:22–23 reminds us that God’s mercies are new every morning.
This means no matter how deep the feeling of despair is, it does not have the final word. There is renewal, there is mercy, and there is a way forward.
LONG ILLUSTRATION
Imagine a runner in a long race who suddenly feels like stopping. Their legs are tired, their energy is gone, and the finish line is not yet visible.
At that moment, despair whispers, “You can’t continue.”
But if they take just one more step… then another… strength begins to return gradually, and the finish line eventually appears.
Despair often comes when you feel stuck or exhausted. But progress is not always fast—it is often step by step. And each step forward weakens despair.
