BIBLE EXHORTATION

Psalm 18:16–19

“He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay. He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.”

PROPHETIC ILLUSTRATION

Imagine a traveler being pursued by dangerous enemies through a narrow and frightening path. The pursuers believe that their target has no escape. They continue advancing, confident that they will eventually capture the traveler. Suddenly, the traveler reaches a place where the enemies cannot follow. A mighty fortress opens before him, and the gates close behind him.

The enemies may rage outside, but they cannot penetrate the fortress. They may shout, threaten, scheme, and pursue, but the traveler is now under the protection of a power greater than theirs.

This illustrates the believer who runs into the presence of God. The enemy may pursue, but God can become a wall of fire around His people. The storm may rage, but God remains Lord over the storm. The pursuers may be persistent, but the deliverance of God is stronger than their pursuit.

The same God who delivered David from his enemies is still able to deliver His people today. Every raging opposition pursuing your peace, progress, destiny, and divine purpose must lose its power as you place your trust in God.

CONFESSION OF FAITH

I confess that the Lord is my refuge, my fortress, and my deliverer. I will not live in fear of raging opposition or evil pursuit. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. The Lord is stronger than every enemy, greater than every power, and mightier than every force of darkness.
