Prayer Focus
This prayer session is focused on destroying every root of pride, arrogance, self-exaltation, stubbornness, rebellion, spiritual presumption, and every influence attempting to make you resist God’s authority or misuse the authority Christ has given you.
The purpose is not to exalt the flesh, but to bring every attitude and spiritual influence contrary to God’s will under the lordship of Jesus Christ, while establishing humility, wisdom, spiritual boldness, obedience, and confidence in the authority of God’s Word.
Bible Exhortation
Scripture makes it clear that pride is dangerous because it attempts to elevate self above God. James 4:6 declares that “God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
Jesus Christ is the supreme example of spiritual authority joined with humility. He possessed all authority, yet He submitted Himself completely to the Father.
True divine authority does not produce arrogance. It produces obedience, courage, discernment, holiness, and dependence upon God.
