RECOVERING YOUR ASSETS FROM DESTROYERS || Deliverance by fire By Dr. D.K. Olukoya
Recovery is one very essential aspect of spiritual warfare. You must take cognisance of the fact that you were not born with the knowledge and the ability to fight spiritual battles. Perhaps you started acquiring such knowledge some years ago. Obviously some damage must have been done before you were sensitised, taught and led into the nitty-gritty of warfare.
Even if you started fighting spiritual battles many years ago, you might still have left something unaddressed. It is the problem of recovering what has been stolen or plundered. Perhaps you are 30 or 40 years old at this time. You must not lose sight of the fact that many of the assets which belonged to you have been pilfered and carted away for a period of 30 or 40 years. If you neglect the past, thinking that you are starting on a clean slate, you must be deceiving yourself.
For a very long time many of us have been deceived simply because we lack knowledge of deliverance in spiritual warfare. For many years, believers have been told, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away, all things have become new.” Our teachers told us to forget about the past as the new birth automatically cancelled every bondage which was the product of our past. We were told that believers were not supposed to subject themselves to anything called deliverance. Such smooth theories were believed for a long time.
Now it has been observed that this idea has simply not worked. Those who are wise are now seeking solutions to their problems after grappling with many unanswered questions. Theoretical answers will not stand in the face of tough life situations. Palliative measures in form of well-postulated and soothing teachings will not solve or put an end to stubborn problems. Many are now coming to terms with the fact that theories are insufficient; we need practical solutions to chronic problems. The days of sweeping problems under the carpet are over.
Today’s believers are simply saying, “Enough is enough.” If you listen to the kind of heart-moving stories which I listen to every day, you will agree with me that the days of radical changes are here. I believe that we are in for lots of surprises – the days ahead will witness such breath-taking changes in the attitudes of traditional, Pentecostal, orthodox or syncretic churches.
None of us should be surprised when we witness these changes. What we feel now does not really matter. The fact remains that many of our personal goods and assets have been stolen and kept in the vault of the wicked one. You are not going to be able to get to the apex of your career or reap maximum benefits from your labour and efforts without taking steps that are geared towards the total recovery and real possession of what was taken from you. You will not know what it means to live life to the fullest and explore all the possibilities that are at your disposal until you know what it means to recover every lost asset.
Asset recovery is a task that must be carried out. To leave your assets in the safe or the bank of the wicked one is to hoist the flag of your life at half-mast. That way, you could end up becoming a fragmented personality. Unfortunately, many of our friends, relatives and neighbours are ‘half’ or ‘quarter’ human beings. Those who are supposed to be multi-millionaires and billionaires are paupers and beggars because their financial assets have been held up in the devil’s storehouse.
Many achievers and inventors are picking stones in the streets, because their intellectual assets have been robbed and sold off for a pittance. Potential industrialists or manufacturers are busy slaving for employers who are nothing but hard taskmasters. Their own goodness has been stolen.
The problem of stolen assets account for a good percentage of what is bedevilling the blackman today. If we can truly deal with this problem, we will experience remarkable changes, men and women will possess their possessions, kings will rule. Those who are ordained to become mighty instruments in the hand of God will fulfil their ministries, and those who are sentenced to perpetual bankruptcy will experience financial buoyancy.
Beloved, if God could open your eyes to the mass of stolen assets stacked away in the warehouse of the devil, holy anger will stir up within you. You will make up your mind to pursue, overtake and recover everything which the devil ever stole from you. Of course, there will be testimonies galore and the days of
God’s people will be likened to the days of heaven on earth.
There are so many things at the background of the average black person pulling him back. God must have a purpose for your life which is, now being thwarted by your family idols. When you by to move ahead, they get in the way.
Perhaps you have prayed and God revealed to you that you are to fly like an eagle but just as your eagle, was about to take off, a I strongman got in the way to clip your wings and keep you grounded with the witchcraft they have planted in your family. It doe snot matter whether you area pastor, a priest, a sanctified, born again Christian, for as long as those evil plantations remain within your family, even if you make heaven, you would have lived a second-class existence.
Just think of it, how many blackmen have made any startling achievement, compared to our population? The percentage is small. It is in Africa that a single person embezzled so much money meant for so many people, which he can hardly spend throughout his lifetime. This stems from demonic possessions in our environment.
Should your lot constitute a part of the embezzled money, it means someone has already swallowed it From where do you then reclaim your share? You can only rely on God’s benevolence.
We shall therefore read some passages from the Scripture:
1 Samuel 30:8: And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
From the above verse, three things stand out: to pursue, overtake and recover. Of course, when you do not pursue you cannot overtake, because the enemy is not standing still, and you just have to run after him. And when you pursue and consequently overtake, you recover that which has been taken from you.
Psalm 18:37: I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed. It is the lot of champions to pursue their enemies. This is the stand of the Scripture. Unfortunately, the reverse is the case in present times. What Christians are supposed to pursue has turned round to pursue them.
Psalm 126:l:When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
I have shared a testimony several times before about a brother who went to school in Nigeria when the School Certificate there was a weighty qualification. The fellow sat for seven subjects and had A1 in all. Thereafter he sat for ‘A’ Level G. C. E. (Cambridge) and obtained 4A’s. After this, he travelled overseas and got a very good degree in Mathematics, after which he returned to Nigeria. But he couldn’t get a job for six years. Mind you, this was a period when top companies went to the universities to recruit students in their final years, and they never seemed to get enough. The jobs were just there waiting to be taken up; yet our friend could not get anyone, no matter how he roamed the streets.
One day, in the course of his job-hunting, he stumbled on a poster announcing a coming crusade. He attended the crusade where the minister spoke about Buried Virtues. This sounded rather strange a topic to our friend. He listened attentively, all the same. After the message, the minister asked all present at the crusade ground to stand apart from one another and start praying: “All my buried virtues, be exhumed, in the name of Jesus.”
Our applicant friend consequently joined others in this prayer and prayed fervently. After a while he opened his eyes and saw an angel. Another woman stood very close to him. The angel turned to the woman and said, “Madam, release this man’s (meaning the applicant’s) virtue to him.” Thoroughly flustered, the woman stammered, “Y-e-s…I wish to release it but…when I planted it here, there was no river here then but now there is a river.” The angel replied, “No one asked whether there was a river or not, just bring out this young man’s virtue.”
All of a sudden, the woman screamed, “O yes, I’ve found it, I’ve found it,” and brought out something like a wedding present and handed it over to this brother. All this happened at the crusade ground. When the young man stretched out his hand to receive the item, he was surprised at the weight. After the crusade he went home.
The next morning, as he stepped out into the street, to go job-hunting again, somebody parked a car by his side and called his name. The occupant of the car turned out to be the person he taught mathematics in the secondary school, a hopeless dullard in those days. The fellow greeted our friend excitedly asking after his welfare. Their talk soon got round to the applicant’s work and he told
his former student he had nothing by way of work. The man was surprised.
In his student days, if asked to answer four out of seven questions, he would answer the four questions all right but would still go ahead to answer the remaining three on the margin just to demonstrate his brilliance. Which means the enemy never minded his brilliance, his Cambridge education and good degree. He made all these useless for the man.
After listening to his story, the man invited his former teacher to meet his boss. When they met the boss he asked the jobless man a question: “You mean you obtained this fine degree from Cambridge and yet couldn’t get a job?” The man said yes.
The boss thought for a while and then asked the job-seeker, “Now, when would you like to start work?” Amazed, the man stammered, “As. . . as. . . as. . .
po-ssi-ble, sir.” The boss looked straight into his eyes and told him: “Well, you have started.”
To top it up, he was given a free choice of a car and any kind of accommodation he liked.
In one day, the brother got all he had sought for so many years, all that had been demonically stolen from him, and after a woman had been ordered to release his virtues to him?
Now, beloved, when your mission is stolen, that very purposes for which you were created, your destiny is buried. Many people are ignorant of their purpose on earth, just because it has been buried. When your seed is destroyed, your harvest is unrealisable.
When your goal is swallowed, your achievement itself is buried. When your soul is stolen, the totality of your being is buried. Mark this fact: unless there is a contest no winner emerges. Unless you pursue, you cannot overtake. Prayers cannot be answered until they are said.
THE LOCATION OF SATANIC BANK
Many things have been stolen from the blackman and kept in evil banks. The resources of so many people in the world are stored in various satanic banks. But
where are these banks located? They are in seven locations.
THE SECOND HEAVEN ABOVE US. This is actually where people’s blood is stored.
THE ATMOSPHERE AROUND THE EARTH. A man’s destiny can float around this space. The enemy has made drifters of so many men and women who don’t seem to be able to hold down a job or career, or a husband or wife. And the more the person drifts from place to place the more satanic magnets he or she distributes all over the place;
EVIL TREES. Even in our local setting, we often come across trees around which white cloths are tied and are labelled sacred. I have witnessed witches confessing that they hold their meetings inside such trees. When a witch took us there, I asked if I could enter into the tree but the witch said no. Items kept in these trees, range from underwear to money and wedding rings belonging to different people.
ROCKS. A look round all rocky cities reveal nothing but poverty as the virtues of these cities have been buried inside the rocks by the demons from those rocks.
WATER.
THE EARTH. A lot of virtues are buried deep inside the earth.
HUMAN BEINGS CAN TAKE A PERSON’S VIRTUE AMD PUT IT INSIDE ANOTHER PERSON’S BODY. Thus, diverting one’s destiny to another person.
The devil is a great evil being. There is no goodness in him at all, just as there is no evil in God. Our God is altogether good. The devil is altogether bad. Even when he gives a person money, the beneficiary is sure to vomit it with interest. Jesus has nothing good to say about the devil. He said, “The devil has come to steal, to kill and to destroy;” to take away every good thing God intends for us to possess. He has stolen so much from many people. For many years, he has taken from God’s children much of what our heavenly Father has meant for us to enjoy. This is very sad. If I knew what I know now about eight years ago, I am sure I would have been better than what I am now.
What I am talking about is that a lot of people have been to so many churches in their lifetime. If they knew what they now know they would certainly have been far well-off, because, one way or the other, far back in their lives, they must have listened to the devil, with regrettable consequences. If they had known better then, they would have scoffed at the devil.
If Job knew that it was the devil that was fighting him, his trials would not have lasted a day. But he never knew; he thought it was God. His friends thought it was his sin. And while their ignorance lasted, his suffering intensified and the devil enjoyed himself. The devil is the most successful thief in the whole universe. He may not be interested in stealing your television set, but he is bent on stealing your eyes with which you watch that television. The devil steals joy, families, children, health, careers, money, prosperity, husbands, wives, indeed everything.
It is sad but true that many of the inheritances of so many people are locked up in satanic banks and are used in financing the kingdom of darkness instead of financing the kingdom of God. For too long Satan and his demons have robbed the children of God, diminishing the qualities of their lives, taking the lion’s share of their assets and possessions. These have to be recovered. Are you ready to recover your stolen assets from the devil?
Once we have identified someone as a thief we should be alert to so many evil things that he can do. He may decide to visit you when you are not at home, he can decide to tell lies, he can be a very eloquent deceiver.
All these tricks come from the storehouse of the devil. With this, we should be able to see that there is a fierce battle going on. The battle is, indeed, far fiercer than most people think. The devil is bent on undoing believers. This is the reason the Bible says that Jesus came to undo the work of the devil.
The enemy is out to destroy destinies and his most lethal weapon is sin. So, with all our might, we must fight against that destiny destroyer called sin. There is what is known as ‘the sting of death’. Its other name is sin. There is what is known as the ‘trinity of destruction’, these are sin, death and hell. Sin kills a person; death reaps the person like a harvest while hellfire is the bank of iniquity that will keep the person in its bosom. The Bible says that hellfire has now been expanded.
There is also what is known as ‘the circle of sin’. When a person commits fornication he automatically collects a demon from one person and then transfers it to another person who in turn transfers it to someone else, and so the circle of sin continues. Another example is when a person commits adultery and gives birth to a bastard, who later becomes a criminal and goes ahead to rape another person, thus the circle of sin grows.
Or, if someone commits fornication and aborts the resultant pregnancy and is afterwards possessed by the spirit of abortion and goes on to become a prostitute. Another person commits fornication and contacts a disease, which harasses his or her life and later spreads it around. All these extend the circle of sin. Take any other sin and you will realise that the consequence is death and that it operates like a circle.
For instance, if you are an alcoholic, you get drunk and misbehave. The person toward whom you misbehave reacts angrily, and the circle of sin continues. With this, the world gets trapped in the satanic network of sin, which leads to death. This circle of death is highly organised to sustain the reign of Satan. So, where sin reigns, death looms very large, evil gets established and demons thrive. If you wish to destroy destroyers and recover your stolen assets, you must turn away from sin. Carry out regular self-examination.
THE LOCAL DESTROYER
Who are these local destroyers? Who are the satanic bankers? What are those powers banking the virtues of the black man? Why is it, as I mentioned at the beginning of this message, that when we try to move ahead, some evil forces always get in the way? These evil forces operate or exist in various categories.
LOCAL BANKER DESTROYERS. These are demon gods. They are present in all tribes in this country. They have their tribal names which are, unfortunately, often added to the names we bear. In some places this has been taken to be the norm. If one’s father or grandfather has not worshipped any of these idols, he must have dropped from the sky.
These evil forces rule over the affairs of men, with terrible consequences. Men worship, consult or reverence them or use them against one another, and they demand worship too. If they are not worshipped, they protest and when they do,
their priests are consulted who tell us what and what the idols required.
In fact, many of the deliverance problems we deal with sometimes originate from such dastardly situations but another problem is that quite a large number of the victims seek deliverance rather late. The idols have their secret places of worship, shrines that may be located in family compounds, groves, or bedrooms.
Some even transported from the worshippers’ villages down to cities centres, like Lagos. Some who attend church regularly still resort to them whenever they feel solution to their problems is not coming as fast as they would have loved. One can only sympathise with this category of Christians, because a day shall come when those idols will slap them on one cheek and Jesus Christ will slap them on the other, because they are neither here nor there!
Idols are powers holding the blackman down, keeping him in captivity and intimidating him. Often a whole people and nation come under their captivity. Any development efforts they embarked upon are preceded with a sacrifice to these gods. And such sacrifices are not guarantees that the development would be allowed to take place after all.
THE STRONGMAN. As revealed by Jesus in Luke 11:22, the strongman is the demon assigned to a person, a place, a scene, a family, a community. He is armed with offensive weapons like axe to ward off any potential invader and capture preys.
The strongman would rob people of their health, their sight, and speech and oppress them and deprive them of abundant life. We must bear in mind that there is a difference between the strongman and the demon god. The strongman demands no worship; he is just a wicked spirit assigned to deal with an individual.
When the strongman in a person’s life turns out to be his or her spirit spouse the person is finished, unless he or she can pray. Being the person’s strongman and spirit spouse at the same time invests him with special power to disrupt everything about such a person -business, marriage, everything!
The strongman steals precious commodities from people: their potentials, job, peace. He can slice off a portion of a woman’s womb or a human soul. The strongman can steal body parts like legs, arms, ears, etc. and render the victim
sick or blind and put him or her in a position of poverty. As all that the victim requires to live a worthwhile existence is taken over by him, and he would not be willing to release them.
The strongman holds his captives down and watches over them the way a security man watches property entrusted to him. Thank God, they can be overpowered, disarmed, dislodged and the stolen valuables in their possession recovered and the captives set free, by the finger of God!
During a sister’s wedding reception, her mother-in-law gave her the following rules:
“I, your mother-in-law, shall be wife No. 1 and you, the junior wife. Do you understand?” Amazed, the innocent bride asked the old woman what she meant by this, but the woman went ahead to give the other rules thus:
“You should move only where I want you to move.”
- “Immediately you get into your husband’s house, I shall live with you for at least two years.”
The sister thought all these were a joke until a week after their marriage, when she lost the use of her two legs. The mother-in-law was already staying and living with them until the new wife prayed one day and the strongman was dislodged.
SERPENTS AND SCORPIONS. These represent satan’s most demonic ground forces. They include familiar spirits and demon spirits that roam the earth. Their weapons are their mouth and tail. They capture men by sex. They poison to kill; they sting to torment people.
They are responsible for inflicting sicknesses, diseases and afflictions. Sometimes when we pray very well, we can see them in our visions. These ground forces possess people and sometimes camouflage as human beings to strike the unsaved and, of course, saints who have broken the hedge.
When people attend the school of deliverance, one of the first lessons they lean is that anger is a gateman at the door so that he assists in widening the opening for all manners of ailments to set in – high blood pressure, ulcers, poverty, etc. And after all these have successfully lodged in a person’s body, he is calm and ignorant of the afflictions he has admitted into his life.
THE WILD BEASTS. These are otherwise called ‘the spoilers of the vine’. They are evil spirits that do not necessarily possess anyone. All they to do is trail people and associate with them. They are destroyers, devourers, looters and killers. They do not always like to lose their ground and are always armed. They can go from family to family. They kill and perform all kinds of terrible assignments.
Psalm 91 talks about lions and the adders. They are ever present in our midst. They influence some of the human beings around us who, when they get into fits of temper, amaze us and make us wonder whether they are human beings. We can see the beast in a 40-year-old who raped a four-month-old baby.
FOWLERS. These are hunters of birds who can also capture men’s souls.
At a Power Must Change Hands service, I explained what the dove and the eagle of a man’s life mean. The fowlers can cage a person’s eagle. This was the situation with the brother whose predicament was recounted earlier on. The dove of his life was captured and put in a calabash, and was buried to form a covenant with the earth not to release it. But when the man smote the ground, in the name which is above all names, the earth had no option but to release his stolen virtues.
OPPRESSORS. The Bible says that Jesus healed all those that satan oppressed. Satan is the oppressor.
CAPTORS. Luke 13 says that satan bound a woman for 18 years.
As you read on, the Lord shall release you from your tormentors. You will pursue, overtake and recover your assets from them. But, first, sin must depart from your life. You must not break down your hedge. The Bible says, “He that breaketh a hedge a serpent shall bite him.” Satan is that serpent.
If a person desires to be a champion but has foundational cage, he would remain stymied by a simple demonic decree and verdict: sit down there.
A lot of people have their virtues overseas but they are here, ignorant of where the airport is! A man who aspires to become an accountant but can’t get his figures together and get the correct sum has probably had his virtues stolen; so also is the aspiring pilot who is unable to get his mathematics right.
This is the reason a person who lacks Jesus Christ in his life but stubbornly pursues his goals is easily eliminated by the powerful forces he struggles against. And as he mourns, people are ignorant of that he has to be eliminated so that those around are held in perpetual penury and misery.
When satan rebelled in heaven and was thrown down to earth he called his committee members together to plan the next move. Adam became their easy target. They deceived and dispossessed him of the good things God had planned for him to enjoy in the Garden of Eden. All the power with which Adam crossed rivers without boats, and the authority with which he commanded lions and elephants to do his bidding, were withdrawn from him in an instant when he allowed satan to lure him into disobedience against God.
Since then most of the things over which man was given dominion have terrorised him. And the kingdom of satan has grown, as he has succeeded in planting his agents in the heavenlies, in the seas and in our environments, to establish an idolatry our system of government. There is hardly any nation in the world where idolatry is not practised. God hates idolatry with perfect hatred. So the facts that our forefathers ignorantly served idols and we too ignorantly follow suit, do not set us free from the evil consequences.
TORMENTORS. In the parable of the unforgiving servant, the wicked servant failed to forgive and, because of this, he was handed over to those forces called tormentors. These are also evil bankers.
POWERS THAT WIN CAPTIVES. These are the powers that go about to win captives for satan.
POWER OF BACKSLIDING. If a person who was once on fire for God suddenly cools off, evil bankers move in and remove his assets.
THE MIGHTY AND THE TERRIBLE. In Isaiah 49:24-25, we are asked:
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? “But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.
WOLVES. In Luke 10:3, Jesus talked about wolves: “Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.”
Here, Jesus was referring to believers as lambs whom He has sent among wolves, who are evil bankers, too.
PRISONERS OF IMPRISONMENT BY SATAN HIMSELF. Satan himself imprisons certain things, apart from those imprisoned by his agents. In Isaiah 14:17, we read: “That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners.”
Some people are very dangerous to satan that whatever is stolen from them is put in satan’s custody himself. Satan fears that if such people are released something will go wrong in his camp. For this reason, some times, people get very good examination results, but are unable to enter a higher institution for three or four years. Satan stagnant their academics progress.
THE STRONGHOLDS. 2 Corinthians 10:3 says, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.”
The stronghold is used for two purposes: to conceal the things that have been stolen, and prevent the victim from being rescued. When some people are told where they could get deliverance from their problems, they stubbornly refuse to go there. The second purpose is to protect the enemy from invaders. This is possible where a particular thing you pray for has been stored in the stronghold. As long as you keep praying ordinary prayers for that thing, the stronghold will keep repelling your prayers, until you say prayers that pull down strongholds.
THE PRISON WARDERS OF SATAN. These are the ones who put chains and fetters on people. They bind people with sinful habits and strange curses and get them under the shadow of death.
THE BANDS OF AFFLICTIONS. These use sicknesses, diseases and poverty to afflict people and tie them down.
THE SPIRITUAL VEILS. These veils used by the enemy are in the form of ignorance and false doctrines.
THE SNARES. These are all over the place. If you are careless and are caught by them, only God can get you out.
THE OFFENSIVES. The enemy uses these to launch attacks on their targets.
Psalm 91 and Ephesians 6 provide enough information on the enemy’s offensive weapons. There are the ‘terrors of the night’, ‘destruction by noonday’, ‘plagues moving in darkness’, ‘arrows that fly by day’ as well as the ‘fiery darts of the enemy.’ All these are satan’s weapons of destruction, used to afflict and kill people.
Many have received cuts and visitations from these satanic I offensives in their sleep, dream and in some cases while they are awake.
No doubt, even as you are reading this, souls are being lost. Virtues, treasures, valuables, glories, wealth, assets, marriages, body parts, prospects, blessings, spiritual gifts and businesses have been stolen by Satan and his agents. The power to prosper or succeed, as well as joy and peace have been stolen by the enemy from many and put in his bags. We need to recover our assets.
WHAT DO WE NEED TO RECOVER THESE THINGS?
DETERMINATION. We must be determined like blind Bartimaeus, who when he heard that Jesus was going to pass by determined to regain his sight. He positioned himself so that Jesus would be able to do something about his predicament.
WE MUST HAVE DIRECTION. This entails having a clear idea of what we want from God. Bartimaeus focussed his attention on the Lord, disregarding what people said or thought about him. He wanted Jesus to restore his sight.
DESIRE. This means deciding what we want and resolving to get it.
DECLARATION OF WAR AND PRAYER TO GET FROM THE CAMP OF THE ENEMY THAT WHICH BELONGS TO US. If you have been
praying for many years and the enemy still holds on to your assets, it may be due to:
Ignorance. This is a state where you don’t know what to pray or where to go, or what to do about your problems.
Most people are not spiritually prepared to contend with the enemy.
Failure to deal with internal garbage. This state harbours evil spirits and the more you pray the more you get punished by the enemy.
Some people have decided to keep their demons. The enemy uses this to eat deep into them. Typical are those who for the fear of fasting, shy away from deliverance sessions.
Unconfessed sins. If you have cleverly concealed certain sins, they will hinder you from your breakthrough, and the enemy will keep locking it in his compound.
Ungodly soul-ties. Once these are in place, failure to break ungodly soul-ties causes trouble.
Hypocrisy. When a hypocrite comes to church, the devil can see him clearly. You have to be serious with the Lord and never approach Him half-heartedly, lest He should handle your own affair, half-heartedly.
The surest way to get the enemy to release our stolen assets is through prayer. If the enemy is hiding your material in the bank and instead of prayer you apply his method to confront him, he may give you what he thinks has been stolen from you, then steal another thing from you.
It is like a brother who realised that he had become impotent and ran to a prophetess for help. The prophetess agreed to help him but on the condition that he would marry her upon regaining his potency.
Mind you, the young man was just 27 while the prophetess was 52. The brother thought he was a very smart fellow. He agreed to the woman’s request.
