There is more to the sky above your head than you can imagine. Besides the atmospheric heaven, we have the third heavens and the second heavens.
In this chapter we shall dwell on the mystery of the second heavens. The third heaven belongs absolutely to God. It is a place where
powers of darkness have no jurisdiction whatsoever. Here, God is in charge.
The host of heaven and the Holy Angels are in absolute control. To have an access to this realm, you must be absolutely holy, within and without.
Evil spirits cannot achieve any form of infiltration into this realm.
AN ARRAY OF WICKEDNESS
The second heaven is a different arena entirely. Evil spirits and their activities run riots. There is a form of competition for the highest degree of wickedness. There is an array of wicked spirits in the second heavens.
When we refer to wicked spirits, we are making reference to spirits that are wicked than the devil himself. These spirits are so wicked that the devil has no control over them. These spirits can be described wickedness incarnate.
In this same realm, we find powers that are referred to as ancestral spirits. Many people pray day and night only to have no testimony to show for it. When such people pray, God sends the answer down from heaven to earth.
However, a spiritual roadblock, which exists in the second
heaven, prevents or hinders the answer form coming down. Ancestral spirits rise up as a formidable force to hinder angels of blessings from bringing miracles and breakthroughs down to earthly recipients. When such a barricade is erected, blessing continues to hang in the air. Blessings are hindered and miracles are delayed.
This explains why prayer has become a burden to many Christians.
What believers need today, is the power and spirit of Elijah. Stubborn ancestral spirits are not willing to let go we need to call the fire of God down. The moment your prayers ascend unto heaven through the vehicle of the chariot of fire it will penetrate the toughest of resistant barriers.
DANIEL’S EXPERIENCE
You need special re-enforcement to deal with stubborn powers in the heavenlies. You need to attack them with the artillery of constant bombardments. Daniel prayed. God heard him and sent answers from Heaven. However, he experienced hindrance from the second heavens.
Daniel spent 21 days on his knees but the answer was sent to him right from the first day. God dispatched an angel to bring the answer to Daniel that same day. Right there in the second Heaven a wicked power, referred to as the Prince of Persia, came up with an evil barricade. The wicked power was strong enough to confront the angel of Daniel’s blessing. Thank God, Daniel was persistent.
If Daniel had decided to get up from his knees the first day, the angel would not have persisted. Daniel’s prayers brought reinforcement from heaven. He prevailed because he persisted. He was able to experience divine breakthroughs because he prevailed in the heavenlies.
When we take a look at the entire gamut of wickedness, we will discover that the most wicked spirits are hanging above our heads in the heavenlies. They make their abode in the second heavens. These spirits must be dealt with. They must be dispossessed and conquered.
THE BELIEVER’S AUTHORITY
If you are a born again Christian, you are supposed to wield some authority and power. The authority given to you by God spans the entire work of creation. You have been empowered to exercise authority over the sun, the moon, the stars and the host of heaven.
The Bible says in Psalm 8:6.
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
God has put all things under your control. As a child of God, you have dominion over all animate and inanimate objects. No matter how fierce any wild animal is, you can put it under control.
THE EVIL SERPENT
Recently, some members of our Evangelism team shared a testimony with me. They travelled to a rural setting, some where in Western Nigeria for an evangelistic outreach. As part of their evangelistic programme they observed a fast.
Just as they were about breaking their fast, something mysterious happened. A violent wind blew across and the wrapper of a female member of the team was blown away.
Before this incident happened, she was settling down to have her meal. She abandoned her meal abruptly and ran to fetch her wrapper. By the time she came back, a strange sight shocked her. She saw a cobra eating her bean-cake delicacy (Akara) and drinking from her pure water pouch.
She raised an alarm and every member of the team chased the evil serpent and killed it. The strange snake was later anointed and burnt to ashes. It was indeed a strange occurrence. Members of the community stated that they had never seen any snake in the
environment. It was indeed an attack. But, when the satanic messenger came, it met its waterloo.
AS far as battles in the Heavenlies are concerned, you will either survive or perish. There is no middle point. The realities of the fierceness of the battle will soon dawn on those who go about dancing and getting engaged in furious modern worship. They will soon change gears and begin to get involved in serious prayer.
Many modern day Christians will soon discover that survival in these last days depends on deep warfare prayers.
