Prayer Focus

Bible Exhortation
Attrition is a strategy of gradual weakening. The enemy may attempt to make a person tired of praying, tired of believing, tired of pursuing legitimate opportunities, tired of fighting battles, or tired of expecting God’s promises.
However, Scripture declares that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. God does not desire His children to be permanently exhausted under the weight of repeated battles.
The enemy may attack the strength of the journey, but God is the strength of His people.
When Elijah became exhausted, God strengthened him. When David faced relentless opposition, he encouraged himself in the Lord. When Paul encountered pressure, he declared that God’s grace was sufficient.

Prophetic Illustration
Imagine a mighty tree standing beside a river. Its roots are deep, its branches are strong, and it produces fruit. But beneath the ground, an unseen parasite continuously attacks its roots and slowly consumes its nourishment.
The tree may still look alive for a season, but its fruit becomes smaller, its branches become weaker, and its growth gradually diminishes.
This illustrates the strategy of attrition.
The enemy does not always attack with one dramatic blow.
